Sidai is the Masai greeting literally meaning "good" or "fine",
and in the broader sense Sidai is an expression of wellbeing and contentment,
which is usually the feelings of those who have been fortunate to stay at
our Sidai Camp.
Located on a prominent ridge in the Tarangire ecosystem, each tent is located
beneath a granite outcropping and overlooks the expansive plains and swamps
of Gosuwa. Elephants grazing in the valleys and hills, giraffe feeding on
the acacia trees and leopards grunting at night: all are a part of the unique
Sidai experience.
Sidai provides an exclusive and private game viewing and wildlife experience
for discerning clients. Sidai is two tents, one of which has a cast iron bath
outside on the terrace overlooking the plains below. Each tent has specially
designed wrought iron beds and African décor, the ensuite bathrooms
and toilets are fitted with especially imported English porcelain, and are
of a standard not normally expected in a camp!
The entire camp has been designed to blend with the surrounding bush and
wildlife, unobtrusive, peaceful and exquisitely intimate.
Sidai is the perfect base for exploring the Tarangire ecosystem either on
foot, on a walking safari with our trained guides, on a night drive or on
the more traditional daytime game drive. Relaxing on the private terrace in
front of each tent or around the campfire after a days' gameviewing is the
perfect way to experience the wildness of Africa - often with the game literally
on your doorstep!
